This Hunter Thompson-esque trip from California to Costa Rica features five landlocked Austrians on a surf pilgrimage. Part comedy, part philosophical diversion, the film investigates the myth of the surfer dude.

The documentary follows a band of Austrian surfers who set out on a cross-continental road trip from Los Angeles down through Mexico, El Salvador, and beyond. The adventurers are in search of new waves to ride and a supposed buyer for their extremely used car.

Gonzo road trip action meets The Endless Summer as a group of surf-crazed Austrians go on the road to find new waves, adventure, and Allan Weisbecker (author of In Search Of Captian Zero).

Fueled by the promise of selling their used cars for double their value at the end of the trip, the crew goes on the ultimate surf trip from Los Angeles through Mexico, El Salvador, Nicaragua, to the legendary surf destination of Pavones, Costa Rica.

"Employing a hardboiled Hunter S. Thompson-esque narration style crossed with a driving surf-meets-Spaghetti-Western soundtrack (masterfully scored by Herwig Maurer). this soulful 16mm film lets you ride shotgun on a 7,000-mile surfing pilgrimage, complete with flat tires, Federales and happy buzzards feasting on bloated roadkill" - Steve Barilotti, Surfer Magazine

"This is the movie Bruce Brown would he made if he followed Hunter Thompson and Jack Kerouac down to Costa Rica with nothing in his boardbag but Super 8 film and Cuervo!" - David Geffner, The Surfer's Path
