From Josh Pomer, the award winning director of The Westsides comes The Kill Seven. The boys are all grown up. There is a new crew of surfers who have taken the ball and are running with it. A new crew shows up in The Kill for the first time. Surfers like Kilian Garland and Mr. Dane Reynolds!
Dane has emerged as the talent de jour. His talent shines through in his first Kill segment, shot in 16mm and combining an insightful interview with a full-on carving and air attack. Its now time for Ratboy to hand his crown over to Dane, as Danes moves eclipse Ratboy.
Yet Ratboy isnt one to be outshined easily - he shows off his tube riding skills in a way in which the wave seems to bend and turn according to his will. He throws his tail around and launches his usual 360 airs with style and grace. That is the magic that Ratboy will always have.
Australia was a focal point of pro surfing in the year 2004. Pomer heads to the Gold Coast of Australia for more surfing with the world elite, Bruce and Andy Irons included. Joel Parkinson surfs closer to Curren than any other surfer that is alive. Of course Curren is still the man and Pomer manages to score some sick sessions with the most stylish surfer in the world. Another surfer who has burst onto the scene is Santa Barbara enigma Bobby Martinez. Bobbys surfing is innovative and smooth. He carves across the seamless walls of Rincon Point perfection. It makes any surfer wonder if magic is swirling in the waters of Santa Barbara, giving surfers their great style. First Tom Curren and now Bobby Martinez. Bobbys backside is toned and well worth watching.
Highlights: Bobby Martinez and Tom Curren at Rincon Point, Joel Parkinson, Andy and Bruce Irons on the Gold Coast of Australia. Dane Reynolds interview and surfing at his home breaks and in Australia.
