History of Bruce Jones Surfboards

Bruce Jones started shaping when the golden age of shaping and the progression of longboards to shortboards was taking place in the 1960s to 1970s. He learned from the best shapers of the time, making his way from working with the glueing department into the shaping room.

After spending several years shaping for other surfboard organizations, Bruce set up shop at Sunset Beach in 1973. Since then, he has been shaping shortboards, hybrids, and longboards for several decades ... providing the best in performance and durability qualities.

He emphasizes much on quality, so that the surfboards aren’t simply “throw-aways” after one year of use.
